About Nagano pork
The Nagano adventure began in 1997. Groupe Robitaille, owner of Lucyporc and a pork producer for two generations, committed to producing high-end pork.
Nagano built its reputation by meeting the very specific quality criteria of Japanese customers. This is how the family business began marketing meat with abundant marbling, whiter and firmer fat, and pinker flesh.
Groupe Robitaille sought a name that would suggest Japan, but be easy to remember and pronounce in Quebec. The adventure coincided with the Olympic Games in Nagano—a perfect inspiration for the brand name.
Flavour and tenderness
Thanks to its exclusive qualities, Nagano Pork is known for its refined taste, exceptional tenderness and juicy meat.
Nagano’s pigs are raised with care and transported according to superior standards so as to reduce animal stress. To ensure the animals’ comfort, our transport trucks have controlled temperatures and a hydraulic system that facilitates loading and unloading. Our farms are located near the processing plants, which reduces the animals’ travel time.
LOCAL PRODUCTION CHAIN
Located in the Montérégie and Mauricie regions of Quebec, Nagano’s farms are close to the plants that process our pigs. This reduces transportation time and keeps the carbon footprint of production to a minimum.
The manure our pigs generate is provided to local farmers for use as a natural fertilizer. This method replaces chemicals and perfectly meets plant needs.
